Look, people are taking considerable time to educate you in spite of your lack of knowledge of basic econ (ironic for you to impute this to DD5 instead) and confrontational style. So I’d recommend you start being more respectful if you want to stay here…
I believe China’s currency manipulation (and its ability to do so) misguide the markets (just like the fed is doing by printing money. ) And value is not so subjective…it can be manipulated…bubbles my friend.
How can you not see that the relative level of economic freedom can influence the level and fairness of trade??
Regarding the IP laws I really dont care much about those either…I just thought it was important on the issue with China.
The fact that value is subjective is the reason it can be manipulated. If value were absolute and unchanging then its manipulation would be impossible.
I came to this site to discuss economics & debate about it. As a MBA executive I am always constantly learning from educated people around me. Therefore I have no problem in being educated…however, that should not be mistaken by me being indoctrinated by your ideas and point of view…no matter how good they seem.
I care not how you (anyone) value my level of economic knowledge. Anyways I thank you for being so rude.
I also have not been disrespectful in anyway to any individual here. I dare you to prove me otherwise.
Twice you have replied to me and twice you have been disrespectful and threatening.
If you so desire to take me out of here…please do so…your power, intolerance and disrespect seem unstopabble.
You often refuse to read what people here say, post questions to questions and then get snippy with people when they do not respond well to your behaviour… I am informing you that you had best curb the drama in your posts, and most certainly do not question the knowledge of economics of some members here when you yourself have not had the bases covered. Oh and please spare me the offended, wounded act. It has no currency with me.
You manipulate information regarding my actions, what I say, what I did, the way I have intereacted with members here.
You have no proof that I refused to read anything here.
It seems that my definition of debating does not suit you. You accuse me of being snippy, dramatic, emotional, intellectually invalid, uneducated in the science of economics and of being offensive to members here and of question their level of economic knowledge.
Sometimes I get the filling that economics is wrongly mixed with the human view of “praxelogy” which has become a doctrine/religion so some.
I makes me wonder if that was Mises purpose.
I believe you hide your hostilities in adorned words to cover your final intend…to have me banned. This is also shared by those intolerant members, with radical ideas and extremist behavior.
So…finally we agree on something my friend…I do not belong here so lets have this account of mine closed, I go my way. OK??
Economics is unique…one word makes it unique…SCARCITY…without it is pointless to bother studying economics at all.
The study and science of economics is deductive in nature. We are dealing with it since the beginning of mankind.
Praxeology on the other hand…was made by “European intellectuals” between the 18-20 century. Although it contributed to economics it belongs more to the field of sociology than economics. Moreover, it implies (implicitly) a type of social order doomed to failure. Human action begins with an awesome analysis from the individual to the group. Sadly, it misses the point where the individual will always be part of a group and it ignores the importance of the group.
The two…although branches of the same tree are very different indeed.
You must me intellectually insulted by the way i see things. But that is where human action comes…we are different…but in my world you would not be banned because you are part of the group…in your world…
Don’t take it personally. You really have no reason to, since people here don’t know who you are in real life, or whether in real life you happen to be a nobel prize winner. It doesn’t really matter. This is a phenomena that happens everywhere on the internet. If you see behavior that is rude. Ignore it and that person. There are people on this forum who will direct themselves to the crux of your argument, give positive feedback to these individuals and ignore the others. In internet parlance: don’t feed the trolls.
I didn’t mean to be chastising with this, just some friendly advice. In the end, if you want to learn about the Austrian viewpoint, it’s probably better to watch the videos on the website and read some of the books up for free download, rather than get bogged down in these kind of debates.
Trying to make this personal is rather futile, so you may as well stop whilst ahead.
What are you talking about? Methodological individualism merely means taking the individual as the fundamental unit of analysis in economics. Praxeology is the study of action (i.e. purposeful human behaviour, i.e. behaviour that is goal-oriented), and economics (or catallactics, i.e. the science of exchanges) is what Mises thought of as its up to now best elaborated discipline. Economics is a subdiscipline of praxeology. You must mean something else…
As far as I can tell, you are the one who started getting uncivil with your “Econ 101” comment directed at DD5. I’ve defended your freedom to differ with the predominant views here, so you know this is not about ideology. Jon is right, you should be more respectful.
