Alexa issue

You could put up your own collected data somewhere?

Do it. The worst that could happen is a bunch of liberal blogs start whining that “Mises is gaming the system.” Which just attracts more attention.

And then after about a month everyone forgets about your post.

Alexa is a bit odd at times, though.

Apparently, the majority of the Mises population is composed of 55-64 year olds browsing from school.

Either the Misesian population is composed largely of professors and teachers too lazy to browse from home, or there is some grand secret here I am not being told.

Oh, and hi by the way (been lurking throughout these forums for a couple months)

In other words, you’ll install the toolbar until you uninstall the toolbar?

Spot on sir, spot on!

This is how I handled this.

That works.

We are seeing a bounce

I wouldn’t worry too much about Alexa, their rankings are based on their limited users, you’ll see a big jump in alexa ranking if you get a few folks to use their toolbar but the only search engine you really need to be concerned with is the mighty Google.

In google, mises.org is doing great! Here are a few recent stats:

  • Google PageRank: 7
  • Google Links: 6,520
  • Google indexed pages: 108,000
Off topic but of interest: check out http://trends.google.com where it currently shows that the no. 1 city for the search term ‘Austrian Economics’ is non other than Washington, D.C. !

Great stuff.

We’re adding other stuff to the site now for public traffic tracking.
