No, it is exactly the opposite. No offense, but you really have to learn some economics before you try to understand problems like that. The profit motive drives entrepreneurs to use cleaner energy, as they have done for centuries. Abolishing the profit motive would mean we are stuck with fossil fuels. Evidence: Those countries that most heavily rely on the profit motive also use the cleanest energy.
