This seems wrong to me, Dave. If “nobody was willing to trade it for anything,” how could it have become “money” in the first place? Doesn’t something, say, a commodity, initially become “money” through the process of trade or exchange?
If someone valued something that no one else valued, that thing couldn’t properly be called “money,” could it?
