Walter Block FTW!!!

I’ve wondered, is Walter Block a ‘Rothbardian’ or a "Misesian’?

He’s a Block-head!

True. Maybe he is his own system.

I think Rothbardian. But what were Rothbard and Mises? We a know Aristotle was Rand’s only influence, so I’m gonna guess she was Aristotelian.

Honestly, I haven’t read much of Rand’s philosophical works. Just some of her novels.

Me neither, but she said in an interview that Aristotle was her only influence and that everything else was of her own making.

Ah yes. So the list of Rand’s influences could be such:

  1. Aristotle

  2. Herself

Garet Garrett… (Yeah, she ripped the Driver off)

Yes, and everyone else is a plagiarizer.

Blasphemy!

As unsettling as it is for me to quote Roderick Long to you

"Rand in turn enthusiastically promoted Mises’s writings in her periodicals, and declared that her ideal curriculum would be “Aristotle in philosophy, von Mises in economics, Montessori in education, Hugo in literature.” (Ayn Rand’s Contribution to the Cause of Freedom)

Okay, now you quote Hume and both of our heads will explode; it’ll be fun!

Why is it unsettling to quote Roderick Long? Concerning the Ayn Rand comment, Daniel and I were having a bit of fun. From what I have heard through Roderick Long’s lectures, who seems to be a knowledgeable individual on Randian studies, Rand had a very high impression of herself and actually said [ paraphrasing ]according to her Aristotle was the greatest mind in history and she thought herself the second.

It was a joke. You know, you’re the Long guy, and I’m the Hume guy, so it’d be “unnatural” for us to quote the thinker who…

Oh never mind.

Oh, sorry. It’s just difficult to tell when people are joking or not. We need a sign. Perhaps the smiley face tongue guy.

You mean like this?

I guess I should have said “wacky fun” to make it more evident. [:P][:P][:P][:P]

Yeah… I totally understood Lilburne to be joking.

[:@] That is my grillin face. I’m grillin you right now
