1. The literature claims that the sun stood still, in the same way that the literature claims that revelation occurred at Sinai.

2. Clearly, if the sun stood still, then the whole world would know about it - and since it appears in the bible, this event is as established as revelation is.

3. The world history books and geologic record show no account of this happening.

4. It is reasonable that the rest of the world, therefore, didn’t know about this event.

5. By 2 and 4, the sun didn’t stand still.

6. By 5 and 2, there is no argument that revelation occurred at Sinai.

Do I have the structure correct?

I think 6 should be by ‘By 5 and 2, there is no argument that revelation can be proved to have occurred at Sinai.’

I think the answer is that the miracle of Joshua was not being set up as a rememberance.

Still have the ‘single source’ problem though. Since it was only intended for a small audience and there is no external confirmation (unlike the sun standing still where everyone was ‘intended’ to see it or apparently any of Jesus’ miracles where there were an equal number of witnesses) the only way the theory works is if you believe that it is impossible for something that is not true to be passed down through the ages.

But it appears that this is not the case.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. However, for religious claims there is not even ordinary evidence, most of the time. Anecdotes (stories) and quirks of the human psyche (inability to detect fallacies) are the source of most “evidence”.
