Still have the ‘single source’ problem though. Since it was only intended for a small audience and there is no external confirmation (unlike the sun standing still where everyone was ‘intended’ to see it or apparently any of Jesus’ miracles where there were an equal number of witnesses) the only way the theory works is if you believe that it is impossible for something that is not true to be passed down through the ages.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. However, for religious claims there is not even ordinary evidence, most of the time. Anecdotes (stories) and quirks of the human psyche (inability to detect fallacies) are the source of most “evidence”.
