Simple: limit the power of government, or better yet, abolish it completely!
Oh I understand, you come from a country where you are forced to do things so we should be forced to listen to your rhetoric and flawed reasoning? A tenet of freedom is allowing others to do as they wish and not imposing on their rights, and you have absolutely imposed by straying from the intelligent conversation we typically have on here.
Please do not tell other people to read if you have not read yourself.
Venezuela is not a socialist country. At least it is not socialist yet.
Private enterprise is struggling but is still alive. Lots of people have been educated in the US & Europe and their business mentality is as capitalist as anywhere else. Our women still manage to become Miss Universe every few years, that means using the best capitalist fashion, the best makeup, the best costume designers such as Carolina Herrera.
The opposition in this country has used all limited tools available to explain to the world that we still have democratic and capitalist values. If that information has not arrived to you because you have only heard the official socialist propaganda from the current government, then you are liable for not searching for complete and true sources or information.
I forgot to point out that a year ago, in 2007, the Venezuelan people voted AGAINST the proposal from the president to change into a new socialist constitution. This decision has been celebrated as the victory of freedopm by most ionternational observers and commentators.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!
I understand quite well that laissez faire is quite litterally no intervention on the part of the Government… However you mistakenly convict me of saying that socialism does have these answers… I never said this… Also I posted this as a question on the Forums. If you are really so egotistical as to assume that only people who are Knowlagable in the subject of Austrian economics can make posts on this forum, then I must assume that I am not welcome in this community and should not further enquire about Austrian economics… because that is a brilliant way to gain support for your ideals…
Furthermore you have demonstrated a limited view by classifying laissez faire and socialism… acording to you, what we have now is “socialism” by that measure we must assume that everything that isn’t Laissez faire is socialism… The funny thing about this is that right now the media is calling our system laissez faire, this proves you to be just as narrow minded as the media.
However the text book definition of laissez faire isn’t applicable in our society.. Even the United States constitution wasn’t truely laissez fair, as such my question on big buisnesses was meant to be taken in the context of a truely applicable laissez faire system.
You do deserve better. I apologize for the behaviour of some of the people here. It’s out of line. It’s condescending, arrogant and counter to the outreach efforts of LvMI.
Yeah, can we stop it with the personal attacks? I will issue temporary bans for everyone involved otherwise.
