I hate to break this to you, but gradualism has been working against us, not for us. lol
One of the founding fathers said that the Constitution would only work with a moral people (or something like that).
It is a moral argument. If you try to make the argument on cost/benefit, then the legion of people will argue that political action can be to their benefit if they can grasp power. You cannot take immoral people, and make them moral by explaining it is more profitable to work and not steal. You have to disincentivize them from stealing (resistance) or appeal to their sense of justice and morality.
Probably not. But can I defer what I know is right rather than risk failure? Do we only stand up for what is right, and our own rights when we are guaranteed success?
It looks like you might be right on this one. When looking up stats on the personal income redistribution of our federal government I found this (http://www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/75-202-x/75-202-x2006000-eng.pdf). And if you look at tables 8-2 and 8-4, the spread between direct transfer payments and income tax for the bottom three quintiles of the populaiton in terms of after-tax income is positive. So you probably are right. This doesnt prove it necessarily but Im not sure how to prove or disprove it. I don`t think that the level of detail in statistics that is required actually exists.
Ha, I didn’t know you were a canuck too. Neat.
I have a friend who is a bigshot at one of the big professional stat firms, but he is a progressive liberal true believer, and he knows I am an anarchist, and it’s always been awkward when I have asked him about certain data sets before.
Using an American example, I’m pretty sure the biggest individual taxpayer in the US,hypothetically, let’s call him “Mark Cuban” probably pays more gross taxes than the bottom 100 million Americans combined (includes kids, elderly, disabled, welfare, illegal immigrant etc).
I think it is very likely that the top 10% of tax payers in western socialist democracies pay 75% or more of the gross taxes.
Maybe, but there are so many government employees that make high incomes. Bus drivers, power generation and so on. Their public income probably gets included as a private income in stats so I really don’t know. Do you know where i can look to try and figure some of this stuff out. I really do want to know. It may come in handy for producing a strategy later on.
Government employees are parasites. Any taxes they pay are just rebates on taxes received as wages.
As far as stats, I would check with governmental census and such bureaucracies.
