I’m glad that I graduated last year. I’m ambivalent about grad school.

You could do what I do and just start doing everything ahead of time…

I would hope most people do this. In my field you pretty much have to. The problem is, there is never enough studying - you never know when you “have it down”, you are always learning something new - and for some of us, when you are really focused on your program, if you don’t get really high marks - you’ve wasted time and and money and have to retake the class again - which depending on the class can be A TITANIC pain in the ass.

Moral: I am pissing coffee right now

Bon courage les enfants!

You guys, nothing goes more HAM than “gun sense in America”!

That image is as irrelevant to the discussion as it is stupid.

the PC that just took over my screen is NA.

Today I spent my time leisurely working on a paper that is not due till next week and felt really good about it. Only when the day was gone did I remember I have a presentation Thursday I have not started.

I showed my empirical analysis to my professor. He said that he thought I was doing the analysis wrong. I was all like this:

“I’m pretty sure I’m 100% right. But I will double check for your beneft.”

It turns out that he was right and after correcting my error it totally changes my results (for the worse). Now I’m like…

FUCKING UP IS A FACT OF MY FUCKING LIFE I HAVE FUCKING GOTTEN USED TO.

How I feel when my professor has taken a perfectly normal problem and turned it into a wierd question no one has ever seen before and I’m trying to figure out the fucking answer before the class ends

When I learn I only missed that A in macro by 1%

Just in the general spirit of the thread/how I will feel in 2 weeks:

Or when the professor says to study how X, Y, and Z work, but what they really meant was to study its history and motives for their development.

i thought i had it

That’s what I’m working on

last paper due in 22 15 hours. 0 pages down and at least 12 to go (not to mention compiling tables, equations, etc). DEEP BREATH

Good luck to you soldier

And god’s speed.

well, the papers are done. looking back, i honestly think i have spent more time editing posts on this forum than i spent writing some sections. maybe it is because talking with strangers on the internet feels like less of a waste of time than doing lit reviews and analyses on subjects i likely won’t ever write in again. i don’t know if that says more about how sad i am or how sad the secondary education system is. either one final next week then i’m done.

Only grades I’ve gotten back so far:

Int’l Relations: A-

Kant’s Ethics: A

PHEWW

expecting

Schopenhauer/Nietzsche: B

Aristotle: B (phoned in at last minute)

Feminism: B- (although I really don’t know: all I know is I went to only 10 or so classes)

Latin: Let’s not talk about that.

“Feminism: B- (although I really don’t know: all I know is I went to only 10 or so classes)”

That’s way too high a fucking grade for that class… Although I’m curious, is the ideology taught in school as bullshit as it is outside of college?

yes. they want to undermine everything that is “culture.” Redefine marriage so that it just delineates various contracts (They don’t want the state involved in relationships, but they want the tax breaks, etc. that come from state recognition). Get rid of monogamy. Allow children to be raised by “the community.” their ideal world is “not patriarchal” (Everything you know is patriarchal which necessarily makes their society a perfect ideal utopia of freedom where you can fuck anyone you want and no one can get upset about it…and where you can get mad at people for being sexually attracted to others). that was not a string of bad jokes either.

I didn’t go because I couldn’t take it. And when I did go I read stuff for other classes during the period. the teacher wanted to desexualize women, but I’ve never seen a professor dress more provocatively.

I HAD to take the class because the other two ethics classes (Kant/Aristotle) were actually history of phil. not ethics/value credits.

AND when I brought up my play “Lysistrata” they said it was a “typical male penis oriented example of how women are seen as sex objects” (or something along those lines). I thought it was funny (the play).

Empirical evidence.
