That would suggest you’re the Scrooge McDuck of technology. You want tech for its own sake. Not for the comfort or abilities it can grant you, but just because you like tech. Period.
And there we have it. Your goal for society is not “optimum advancement of science and technology”…your goal is that people don’t die of “natural causes” (including supernovae). Advancement of science and technology is, as you said, “just a way to reach that goal.” So you really were falling victim to your own rules and not answering your own question properly. That’s why it made no sense.
As mentioned previously I have learned that ‘society’ is a loaded term on these forums and I regret having used it (though only in hindsight). When I said society previously I was simply referring to a collection of humans that make up a city, state, country, continent, or planet at a given point in time.
Your still in the same dellimma as above. Wht goals SHOULD they have? Who should decide these goals? Should everyone agree on these goals? Why are you trying collectivize that which simply cannot be?
Basically the only goal that societycan have is to leave individuals alone and let them pursue they`re own dreams. Prosperity and progress can only be fully achieved under those circumstances.

Do you want anarchy because being told what to do makes you unhappy?
Do you want anarchy because you believe that it will increase the quality of your life?
Do you want anarchy because you don’t like working hard and not reaping all the benefits of your labor?
Do you want anarchy because you have the highest chance of survival?
Do you want anarchy because you consider it morally ‘wrong’ for some people to tell others what to do?
Do you want anarchy because you are against violence (and the state necessitates violence)?
Do you want anarchy because you were impressed by a Time Magazine cover story that talks of immortal humans and uses cool buzz words like “singularity”?
+1 for humor, even if it was at my expense. Wish there was a ‘like’ feature available on the forums to replace posts like this one. To answer your question, I did not learn of anarchy via buzz words. I originally had a similar ideal for government and later learned about anarcho-capitalism and it is the closest fit to what I want that I have found.
