As far as being “allowed” I would say, no, because it’s not proportional. What is proportional? As I said, something the parties involved must come to an agreement on, with or without the aid of a third party. That is, it will be different in all cases. Your example is rather extreme in that it’s almost perfectly clear-cut - it’s not proportional. Change walking on the lawn to walking into a bedroom in the middle of the night - much less clear. This is why fair courts and arbitrators would be in high demand in a free society. That being said, I don’t think it’s moral to shoot someone for walking on my lawn because it’s not proportional, and would be an act of aggression against the other’s property and therefore a violation of the NAP.
That point where force used for defense itself becomes agression is elastic, depending on the circumstances (walking on the lawn vs. walking into a bedroom) as well as the people involved (a little kid threatening to beat me up vs. Mike Tyson threatening to beat me up). There simple isn’t a right answer for all circumstances. Again, this is why I think fair courts and arbitrators would be in high demand in a free society.
Sure there are varying degrees. Aggression cannot be defined however without a clear definition of private property. This is the link from NAP to Property and why the two are important together.

I just look at evil as the absence of good, as darkness is the absence of light. The only way to combat it is to light the fires of the mind, and to be patient. Hatred, spite, fear, distrust, and so on will only ruin your own life. We all get upset from time to time. Ignorance can cause that. The only cure is to take a deep breath, and, like Sisyphus, continue pushing that boulder up the hill.
I wonder if you could persuade a church official to perform an exorcism on a socialist or statist? Based on the fact that he accepts the demon of statism, forced wealth extraction, murder of humans at home and abroad. Maybe someone could make a parody of the exorcist, and the exorcised would vomit stolen tax dollars.
A harsh reality, indeed, but this is a primary barrier than prevents that said proliferation of libertarianism, because a good deal of people are part of a family (biological or non-biological).
Statists subscribe & believe different memes than anti-statists do.
My family isn’t evil, because on the odd time I’ve argued efficiently / correctly / or with just plain luck, they may agree to something anti-statist, but a mis-wording, incorrect tone, possible arrogance or frustration often throws my argument out of the window before it’s out of my own mouth.
the primary thing to remember is that dissent does not equal wrong, & this goes both ways, something I feel libertarians & anti-statists often forget in the heat of frustration reinforced both by collectivist solidarity (i.e. calling people sheeple, etc.), & one’s emotional state.
The cognitive dissonance created by misinformation, propaganda, dopamine (entertainment), & debt overload makes for a mightily efficient barrier against arguments that do that fall into the stauts quo, are popular, or aren’t politically correct.
If families were argued against, challenged, converted, but most importantly more involved, we might see a more organic, localist proliferation of said memes.
Throw in some chain reaction ocurrences of the six degrees of seperation, & while you might not have a wildfire of converters on your hand, your doing a far more immediate thing to spread the conversation around things that are typically kept under the stairs & shunned.
For all the talk of decentralized market action & non-political activism, the family continues to remain a third rail, as evident by the masses still foolishly believing the out of power rhetoric of Republicans, or remaining ignorant of the consequences of the popular choice & use of Democrats.
A stranger who doesn’t like argument is less able (generally) to forgive & have patience yo listen to you, than family members. The biological and/or social bond family provides, & the effects of other family members talking to others of other famlies,etc. shouldn’t be ignored, imo.
