Whats to stop him from making them right now? Whats to stop him from purchasing WMD right now?

You need to think about markets. Markets are best at doing what? Efficiently providing quality services to their consumers? Do you believe this? In contrast the state’s police system by very definition is socialist in nature and as a result suffers from the consequence of not having economic calculation.

To stand here and tell us that the police force will be more effective at stopping WMD’s as opposed to PDA’s is to disregard the fact that the state has no economic calculation. If you believe the police force is more efficient then you are a hypocrite in believing that ‘free markets work’. If the state can manage the police force more efficiently they should be able to handle all types of services and goods more efficiently. Do you believe this? Use logic. You cannot believe that ‘free markets work, except’. There is no except, either you make a concession that free markets work or they do not.

This is a typical libertarian dilemma. Their own arguments against socialism break down in regards to security.

Who cares?

The real question is, how do you stop crazy people from getting nuclear weapons in the real world!

Yes I’m sure glad state power exists, otherwise madmen like Kim Jong-il might get hold of them!!

At least in an anarchy a single person could not keep 30 million people hostage, build nuclear weapons and never have to pay any sort of personal consequences because “he’s a head of state!”

The ICJ gives me hope.. (another state-based institution, I know..)
