I cannot remember where I read/saw this, but Rothbard was planning a history book covering the Progressive Era as well as the religious left. Being that they are related I assume it was to be the same work. Shame he did not live to finish this, as both the Progressives and the religious left are reoccuring themes in much of his writing.
I’d like to see an investigation about The Confederate States of America. It’s constitution compared to the AoC or our Constitution. I do not know if he talks about this in his Lincoln books, but most uneducated people probably think the South wanted a dictator. How about some pro Jefferson Davis (if he was good anyway).
I think he should do Bill Clinton, who is viewed as being the anti-Bush, most people forgetting that this was the guy who let the CIA listen to your phone calls, and dropped bombs and sent troops everywhere, just as bad as Bush, but with better outcomes…eh.
Or maybe instead of attacking the gods of American statism, he can put some people in a better light, such as Coolidge as most people see as a lazy President, or Jimmy Carter who instead of being a Bible thumping liberal, actually is responsible for the government deregulation
Along these lines, I’d like to see a favorable write-up of Martin Van Buren. He played a big role in the Jacksonian overthrow of the banking/government partnership (for as long as it lasted). And unlike Jackson, he was anti-slavery, and anti-military belligerence.
lol. As a member of my school’s advanced choir, i will be going to DC in a few months to sing the national anthem at the lincoln bicentennial celebration… what fun!

Check the Rothbard Archive in the Media section. There are six lectures he did on topics that were to have been covered in volume three of his History of Economic Thought. The progressives and the religious left are covered in one of those lectures.
I do remember one of the lectures stops in mid sentence right when he was getting wound up about John Dewey. Must have run out of tape or something.
