The short answer is that adoption grows slowly with time. Adoption of any currency/money is not instant and, as shown in the two tables, the only requirement is that there is not a gap in collection size requirements, something that cannot be known without polling the entire population.
BitCoins meet the requirements of the regression theorem. I have separated out the core requirements of the regression theorem that have been argued in these two posts (please reply to them if you disagree with the conclusions):

If there is some other premise of the regression theorem that BitCoins do not meet the requirement of please let me know so I can consider it. It is my understanding that the two points addressed in those topics are the ones that you feel apply to BitCoins not meeting the requirements of the regression theorem.
