Excellent point, then. On your second point, I would only argue that whether or not a multi-national could survive isn’t necessarily dependent on not having to compete. If everyone were buying a service from one business, they could conceivably have the kind of money to grow to that size. I doubt it would take everyone, since large businesses can remain large and grow larger as long as they continue to beat the opposition by providing the most desired product. I would agree completely, however, with the assertion that this is much more difficult to do without the aforementioned protections. All for the better, in my not-so-humble opinion. I prefer my suppliers of goods and services to always be on their toes. I get better stuff that way.
