Fighting for yourself (themselves) is the right thing, but don’t fight for more taxation and thievery and go the very way we are advocating not going. I mean is this really making sense to bash people that are standing up for freedom? I understand Europe is in a mess, but don’t start fighting against leaders speaking up for freedom. For now you’re becoming even more misguided or misguiding.

Am I not making myself clear? If we aren’t going to be the leaders protecting them, they are going to find other leaders. This is no longer a philosophical argument. There are those who are going to fight and those who are going to let people starve. If the leaders speaking up for freedom won’t lead the fight, the leaders speaking up for socialism will.

Well the leaders speaking up for socialism are not fighting here that I know of, in the U.S. But I definitely see your point about Europe. But how to go about it? How do you distinguish yourself? I think I know what you’re saying now.

Shame you can’t articulate yourself better. His question was valid based upon what you had previously posted. Both you and Giles made clear that action, even action negative to liberty, is preferable to inaction.

I’d like to start 160 years ago, but I am pretty sure all of those revolutionaries are now dead.

What are the revolutionary ideas today, where Europeans are disarmed?

Tell me about YOUR leadership. Why is YOUR leadership superior to the failed models today?

The insurgents of 1848 did not have arms. They only had organization and the will to besiege the state.

A bit OT, but I have a question. Since when were the revolutions of 1848 considered a ‘good’ thing by libertarians? In the German states they wanted a massive national government to annex all the independant German kingdoms - really libertarian. After their ‘revolutions’ failed, alot of the Forty Eighters came to the US and acted like fascists - advocates of hyper nationalism and huge government. Not to mention a big component of Lincoln’s army.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding you Stranger. Did you simply cite them as an example of Europeons ‘acting out’?

There were also liberals fighting that revolution who wanted to curb state power and end monarchical absolutism, and they succeeded in rolling back feudal privileges.

We are in the same situation today. Yes, some who are going to fight for the people against the ruling class are going to be bad people, people who want power or who want things that make no sense. But we have to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them in our opposition to power, otherwise they will be standing alone and we will be remembered as cowards. And should they succeed, we will have no organization to fight them.

Remember what happened in Cuba. Don’t let this be another Cuban revolution.
