Every time I hear someone talk about New Hampshire I immediatel think of this:

I would like to rant about Wheylous calling right-wing Libertarians silly, haha. We’re not. =P

One of the great counterfeiters saying their notes are counterfeiter proof.

Maybe they meant the notes are a proof of ECB being counterfeiters…

drone attacks are laughable in the fact of what would happen if the Taliban (which Pakistan harbors)gets in control/ i mean, this is controvercial but state and religion are pretty much intertwined in the middle east and if it is the will of allah to behead non believers, then people will do it. don’t be gullible.

if America leaves then it won’t get any better…because the core problem is the non democratic ways of the government. Free Speech is a myth over there, Internet gets shut down at WILL, the people are treated like prisoners and not people. we need to find a way to change that

Michael Shane, have you read about the concept of blowback? The reason those terrorist groups are able to recruit so successfully is because the US is messing with the nations. It’s pretty damn difficult to convince people to blow themselves up for you. The US interference increases the incentives for people to blow themselves up and makes recruitment easier for terrorists, as the article above notes.

Yes, there will be conflict there, but the US makes it worse. If the US leaves, there will still be violence, but it will be less.

i understand that when a group feels oppressed they will do whatever they can to throw off the oppressor but i thought suicide bombings were derived from a twisted sense of honor almost as to how the crusaders were told their sins would be forgiven if they basically suicided themselves. It seems like the US leaving would be a huge gamble that could either pay off or eventually bite us…

Jahi ok my question for you is 1. How will you employ the 100,000 plus person employed by the department of defense. 2. What will you do with the machines that cost millions of dollars to create 3. What will happen to the underdeveloped countries who are oppressed by other nations and killed by terrorist 4. What will happen to countries we are trying to stablize and promote democracy in 5. How will we protect american investments overseas( the government and private sector will not trust let alone settle with hiring mercanaries) 6. How will America maintain hegemony? 7. How we will prevent dangerous groups from acquiring nuclear weapons 8. What will we do when our allies need our military assistance 9. What will we do if america experiences another 9/11( there are people in other countries who want to exterminate us, so do u want to risk being exterminated? 10. Why do you completly ignore all the posiive thigs our military presence does?

33 minutes ago · Edited · Like

Jahi your alternative is doomed to fail because the soldiers coming home will not have jobs, it will not be passed by congress, we run the risk of being exterminated, america investments(oil and private companies will fail), terrorist will still kill people because AMERICA IS NOT THE SOLE CAUSE OF TERRORISM

Michael 1) After WW2 we had 10 million troops come home and they found jobs. The point is to not keep massive amounts of jobs that aren’t necessary. If we had the government employ people to draw cave painting and then erase them right afterward, we can realize that this is an unproductive job. Shouldn’t we cut it? Yes. And it will create a temporary unemployment, but it will be resolved.

If these threads are “low content” does that make everything outside these threads “high content”?

Bert,

Yes. Classy, important, and intelligent content that should be documented by high class scholars.

Anyway. I returned to a political forum which I used to go to but left because seeing in red all the time is bad for my health. Yesterday I had a discussion that literally took the cake for most ridiculous discussions that I’ve ever had, this one beats the argument I once had over “higher taxes mean freer markets” so this has to be achievement unlocked right here.

I had an argument with a guy yesterday who literally took it as a matter of course that the minimum wage raised both employment and living standards. When I used a basic argument which is usually introduced between chapter five and seven of an economics textbook, the supply and demand section, he claimed that I “didn’t understand supply and demand” and that the matter was so clearly settled that because I was even talking about it I was “spamming the thread”.

His justification for his premise was that most companies are monopsonies, and when I said that they weren’t he said that “job market frictions” meant that they were, and furthermore that price controls only work the way that I’m talking about in perfect competition so I should “spread my perfect competition lies” elsewhere…

I want to die.

so I should “spread my perfect competition lies” elsewhere…

I want to die.

So that you can spread your perfect competition lies completely elsewhere?

Neodoxy, clearly his point was just to make you shut up and go away. I hope he didn’t succeed.

When you say that “seeing in red all the time is bad for your health” I assume that the forum you were on was RevLeft.

I went on that forum. Have you ever experienced explosive vomit? I never did, until I went to that place.

I believe Aliens will come down in the near future and help us rid ourselves of government. I also believe they will introduce us to technology that will allow those who wish to leave the planet and explore/live elsewhere.

What if there are advanced beings in the Universe besides us?

What if we need to grow spiritually to join them?

What if part of growing spiritually means stop supporting theft?

Government can only exist by stealing.

What if we need to find another way besides supporting an organization that steals?

What if we can never move forward without doing that?

Left-libertarians. There’s nothing that pisses me off more than seeing some snot nosed pot-smoking Kevin Carson-reading left-libertarian hippy try to talk malarkey about how XY and Z wouldn’t exist in a free market.

JESUS CHRIST!

By “X, Y, and Z” do you mean “profit, rent, and interest”?

I don’t encounter as often, what I’m seeing a lot of is these GODDAMN LEFT-LIBERTARIANS LEAVING THEIR GODDAMN COMMENTS ON THESE GODDAMN FACEBOOK POSTS ABOUT HOW CORPORATIONS WOULDN’T EXIST IN A FREE MARKET, IT PISSES ME OFF, IT PISSES ME OFF, IT PISSES ME OFF GOOOOOOOODDDDDDAAAAAAAMNNIIIIIT!

Maybe they don’t use the same definition of “corporation” as you?
