Very legit… What are you specialising in? I personally have little idea as to what field of EE to concentrate in, but I need to make a decision soon…
Here’s a dilemma I’m sure someone here can give me good advice on. I want to get a libertarian minded internship before I graduate. I’m thinking about interning at the Cato Institute at DC, either in the spring or fall to increase my chances. I have a gpa of 3.2 and am a sophomore. Think I got a chance, or any advice?
Would getting a job in banking be considered immoral if I was able to (considering what I know and understand)?

I graduated from college last year with a degree in advertising and a high GPA. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a job (at least a full-time, benefits-included, good one) since. I’m currently doing two unpaid marketing internships at once, even though I already have some on my resume. Might as well get some more experience–it’s better than doing nothing.
But I’m honestly amazed at how hard it is to find a job, even in the crappy economy. A lot of employers seem to demand ridiculous levels of experience for skills that IMO can be learned within a few months (or even weeks). Sometimes I wonder whether I’ll ever find anything.
Everyone has a degree, and lazy teachers curve every test so that everyone passes. Everyone graduates high school, and everyone’s given access to subsidized college student loans/grants. We are a society of pseudo intellectuals.
We are a society of inflationists. We have the government inflate everything. Including diplomas and degrees.
Explain your point then…

I have an MBA in finance a BS in Economics …I have been looking for a better job since December and barely any calls.
The situation is ridiculous but just wait and take time.
Location may also have something to do with it. I just found some internships in marketing, and I have an interview in May. 
For starters, I would not put marketing in the top 3. But there are certainly other worthwhile business fields to go into. Take supply chain management for example. It is easy to get a job and it pays well. There are other worthwhile fields too, and it also depends on the school you are attending. I agree though that accounting is #1.
Those 3 I posted are the universal ones. You can do anything in business with a concentration in any of those.
The rest put a serious limit on your scope of practice.
I dont care how exiting supply chain management can be…a marketing guy can do the work just fine.
Honestly… I would suggest doing engineering. You need a major that produces a product. Taking it one step further you need a major that produces a product people buy Sry philosophy is out.

Not only is marketing guy capable of doing the job…actually he/she is more qualified to do it.

If you think it’s useless to study management in college, please have some respect for those who majored in philosophy in a French public university. I’ve spent 3 years of my life going out, having fun, drinking beer and I am now with a philosophy degree. You guys talking about the uselessness of your education have serious competition over here.
I’m so desperate I was thinking about going back to college in the US to get a degree in buisiness or economics. I figured that useless in the US is far more usefull tha the usefull in France. Some people tell me that you can pretty much go to any college you want for the first two years and it doesn’t really matter. Is that true? I’m asking because I have family in El Paso, TX and I can’t really afford going anywhere else for now.
True but the institution has to be a fully credited one…or else your classes wont be transferable to other universities or colleges.
