Some of his posts have been troll-like, but a few of his recent ones indicate that he might be interested in serious contemplation of these ideas. Can we not derail this thread with this kind of off-topic chatter so that we may respond to his questions if they come up?
Truth is I have not. But six months ago I did engage in discussion on this board and thought I learned enough to talk about it intelligently but maybe not.
I continue to read more. Will get back on the form after I read more and have specific questions.
And keep in mind that an-cap is NOT Austrian economics. An-cap is political and AE is obviously economic.
Mansoor, you can’t rely on this forum as a place to exclusively learn Austrian economics. The forum is where people come and usually argue or hash out ideas. Most of the ideas that make it to this forum and get long threads that are pages in length are controversial ideas. That doesn’t mean non-controversial ideas don’t make it to the forum. You can find fairly agreeable topics in the forum that numerous people will find favorable when you scroll down the list of threads.
The ideas in this forum are ideas that may take numerous books, essays, etc… to read up on and/or such ideas have not fully settled in the minds of people because they might be new to the present experiences of people in the U.S. or other countries. It is highly suggested to read from the philosophers and economists that came up with the ideas that are shared on the forum. In that way you can learn straight from the horses mouth. You will without a doubt get their full argument that can be reviewed page after page that a forum post can never be able to explain in such detail or else the post would be a book or essay. And posts in this forum are not that long and detailed. They are usually simplified versions of what you will find from the actual philosophers and economists themselves.
