Do you know why worker in poorer countries are paid relatively low wages? At least make an attempt to stand out from the easy answer seeking masses. I’ll give you a hint: money is not wealth.

When someone complains about Walmart they are always talking about Walmart employees (who are there voluntarily), they never mention the billions of low income shoppers that benefit from Walmart’s low prices.
I’m worried about Wal-Mart being regulated so that they can’t hire children, or can’t close stores with Unions. Children are able to get out of poverty since they are able to work at sweatshops.
This is a good thing, but what I worry about are socialists who whine about Wal-Mart not sharing their profits. The Obama administration might hear them out and decide to regulate Wal-Mart.

My friend got fired from Wal-Mart because he was injured on the premises, and the manager’s denied it. How is this fair at all? I don’t think its the CEO’s and the leaders that are corrupt, but the managers.
The managers take too much liberties in their power and are not under any speculation. Their decisions don’t influence the company, so they are unaffected by market forced.
I don’t have a problem with Wal-Mart except the people that go and work there. Well, I generally don’t go to Wal-Mart unless it’s past 1 AM, but still, even during the day it’s like a cess pool.
Other than that I can buy jeans at Wal-Mart for $10. I like that.
Two problems, or well arguments, I have heard from people who don’t like Wal-Mart are along these lines:
“Puts smaller stores out of business”. Wal-Mart isn’t a specialty store, if you are looking for a generic good, you might find it there, but nothing specific. I can’t go to Wal-Mart looking for products that you would pay high dollar for, or something that’s not purchased by the majority. Other than my jeans everything else I buy does not come from Wal-Mart and comes from a specific store that specializes in that (whether it be electronics, shoes, books, etc etc). I can’t go to Wal-Mart and buy a valve cover gasket, books on Runes, lumber, and new bearings for my skateboard. Not unless that smaller store sold all the same generic stuff for a higher price, I find it hard to believe.
“Wal-Mart abuses it’s employees (in some way or another)”. I find this hard to believe due to so many laws that protect employees. Unless the employees are so daft they won’t report abuse done to them this is unlikely to happen.
Life’s not fair. Never has been, never will be. Human’s are not made equally. You wouldn’t want it any other way, thats what makes life so rich.

Ultimately if Walmart hires too many bad managers they may suffer financially. Also your friend had no right to work for Walmart, walmart permitted him to be there. It was a privilege and he got hurt. Whether they let him go reasonably or unreasonably is of no consequence, the point is your friend does not own walmart and really has no say in the matter. If walmart is that nasty of a company don’t by there and don’t work there. [:)] That is a great power which we wield.
Basically everyone is saying they could run walmart better than walmart could. If this were really true, common men could become millionaires by starting their own walmarts. They could take fewer profits and bid employees away from other businesses. They could have better PR image because they wouldn’t be corrupt bla bla bla.
So people essentially assert that there’s free money out there, but no one is actually acting on it for some reason…
Your friend signed a contract that said Wal-Mart can lay him off whenever, for whatever reason. Your friend voluntarily signed the contract. It’s misleading to call managers corrupt for fulfilling what they had promised, and what you voluntarily agreed to.
