So I guess this forum ought to be closed down at the LvMI sold off to the SPLC; we must recant our neo-fascist libertarian inclinations and accept that we were wrong.
On a side note: Radiohogan commented on one of his one videos that his father liked the Depression because it brought people together. There was also another comment about this economic crisis, and by extension other ones, being good because it raised the possibility of the affluent feeling what the poor feel.
Hoppe actually detailed this whole “brings people together” nonsense in the case of Eastern Europe, where he mentioned IIRC people huddling together because of the lack of heating.
No, no I study Theoretical Physics in the UK. The guy looks like our senior tutor. Think it would be either hell or sadistic comedy to have that guy as a professor, let alone for econometrics![+o(]
For those who understandably don’t want to waste nine minutes listening to this guy, here is a recap of his entire “argument”:
First, he has a degree in economics.
Ron Paul & Peter Schiff are the best known Austrians, but they don’t have economics degrees, 2) Austrians are supply siders,3) Austrians tell him with internet replies that they believe these things, 4) Austrians concentrate on the consumer, they want to increase supply to lower prices, 5) The correct approach is go back to Keynes and fill in aggregate demand with government spending, 6) Austrians have been discredited because they don’t have economics degrees, Austrians don’t believe in degrees, it is a LIbertarian thing, 7) Austrians are anti-intellectual, there are two books that say so, 8) What University hires Austrians? 9) We say that Keynes is passe, and his ideas died when he did. 10) There are no significant Universities that have Austrian professors. 11) By comparison, there are many Keynesian professors at Universities such as Cambridge and Princeton, where Paul Krugman teaches and “he writes for the New York Times”, and Stiglitz is at Columbia. 12) We are “silly gooses”.
ladyattis, you are actually a man. I am disappointed.
P.S. The guy linked in the OP is a tool. It’s better if we just ignore him. There really is no point to refuting something that has no anchor in reality. Refuting him is equivalent to a scientist refuting someone who is exclaiming “we live in a static universe in which everything revolves our flat earth!”
See, there you go with the name calling. That’s all Austrians do is call people names, because they’re uber-reactionary neo-confederate closet racist fascists.
