And where did Paul make his wealth? Of course he made some of it from his days as an obstetrician (sp?), but what of after it? Perhaps that nearly $200,000 a year in tax money might have something to do with that?
As far as donating to LvMI. That’s nice, but it doesn’t excuse the sleaziness of his activities. If it took lobbying for federal subsidies to bring LvMI further income, would you advocate it? What’s different about taking money from a single congressman then?

I believe he was implying your comment was possibly “juvenille” and/or cute because you were either in a college or a university, based on the asumption that since (if you were) in college or in university, you lack experience and/or are “too young” to make valid insights.
Paul was also a coin dealer, and has been an author for 20 some odd years.
It’s hard to take your accusations seriously, since you have made public that you do it to create spice and venom.

Sure he produces things. He gives a lot of people hope. He puts down an important contrarian view in the record book. He presents legislation that challenges the status quo. He builds coalitions and trains staffers, etc etc etc.
I can buy that you don’t appreciate his political views, but to paint this guy as less of a human than his associates in government, seems to be more “spice and venom”. Playing to the crowd.
Of that, I’m certain. I’m not a whole lot older than you (32), and criticizing youth isn’t really my style. On the other hand, experience does mean something. It took until I was 25 to realize and start to appreciate that.

So it’s not education unless it passes a certain standard, in this case, your own? That doesn’t seem arrogant at all. I’m not a whole lot younger than you, but knowledge does mean something; last I checked, the state didn’t have a monpoly on knowledge (yet, anyway). It only took experiecing 4 years of a vaccum in High School for me (and anyone else, really) to appreciate that.

I’m sorry, but the newsletter thing didn’t exactly boost my confidence of the man’s credentials; the moment anyone starts harping on RP as if he is some political saint or one “untouched” by the system, I slowly tune out such rhetorical nonsense.
Even if it looks like he’s a good guy, it’s healthy to be suspicious nonetheless, as he still works for a system that is broken (or in the case of minarchists, has all the bad people pulling the levers the wrong way), regardless of whatever his platform advocates.
