Just got out, getting ready for a masters program. Ya, Ive actually had someone say to me “Why are you watching the Discovery channel” with disgust. When I replied “to learn things,” I got this disgusting response; “ugh, I don’t want to learn anything…”

I understand both- I’m first year undergrad, and some of the roommates/building mates A) like Jersey Shore (and the complete non-guido “guidos”) and B) hate Discovry/Science/History channels, as they have a hard enough time getting through their normal classes.

Merlin: For being pragmatic while not selling out your beliefs, and because the world needs more polite Internet users from Eastern Europe.
Joint: Jackson LaRose and Liberte: For showing both the locals and lurkers what real egoism is, and for sticking up for your beliefs under high pressure.
Student: For being an unofficial ambassador for mainstream economics, a voice sorely needed to counteract the misconceptions and outdated notions some have about other schools.
Prateek Sanjay: Anybody who can make me overcome my prejudice against people with “default” avatars, and provide a perspective from India and one’s own philosophy, deserves a spot on this list.
Joint: assimalilateur and yuberries: Because I can’t decide which of your avatars is funnier,.
Gee, here I thought my avatar would be the one winning me a nod or two, but I guess the forum does get a bit serious sometimes, so humor can be a valuable commodity.
