I understand why malls exist, but I don’t love them.
Malls reflect the kind of people who live in a particular place, acting according to the marketplace. Now look at Alpine people such as the Swiss or the Austrians or the Liechtensteiners - they enjoy hiking, physical activity, and intellectual pursuits. How many Wal-Mart style malls does one see there?
Wal-Mart isn’t a mall.
And yes, various people have various preferences. What of it?
I’ve never heard a good argument against the existence of Wal-mart or malls.
Thankfully, values are subjective and people are free to buy whatever (wherever) they like and not forced to buy what they don’t like at places that disgust them.

I don’t see why I should know how to program a Unix machine so that I may use a Mac. I’m glad Steve Jobs dumbed down the Mac so that it has a graphical user interface. Do see the point I’m getting at?
I recently switched to a macbook pro from windows. Most productive thing I’ve ever done. Everything just makes sense, everything just works.
I just added a MacBook Air to my stable and it’s the only Mac I’ve ever owned other than a Macintosh SE I bought in 1999… Why don’t PC notebooks have multi-touch trackpads? It makes using a computer so much easier and is much more intuitive.
the MAC multi-touch trackpad is so awesome. By comparison my work issued Dell Latitude’s trackpad is maybe 1inch by 2inchs in size, and moves at half the speed. With no gestures or multi-touch functionality. Complete garbage.

AFAIK, it’s a software side feature, so it’s probably available for most systems. I use ubuntu on my laptop and the synaptics drivers it comes with allow for multi-touch. I use a mouse though so I don’t know what kind of interfacing this allows for.
Still, many multi-touch interface features like pinch, expand, and rotate have been patented by Apple, so OSes can’t implement them unless their developers lisence from Apple first.
Yeah Apple is nice… Until you want to customize. Also hope that one of your parts doesn’t fail you, out goes the whole system. Proprietary…
PC is nice if you want to customize. Just hope the parts are compatible and that your registry doesn’t get screwed up.
Things do work better on Macs, but generally that’s just because no one gives enough of a crap about Macs to screw them up with decent programs or viruses.
I take it that you write your own drivers. Lol.
