SLC Punk in case anyone else was wondering what the movie was. Pretty well written movie; one of the few movies where Mathew Lillard is not anoyying, and has some good cameos.

Thom Hartmann fans are awesome. They are the left version of Glenn Beck fans.
Without meaning to call you a liar, I find it a little hard to believe that a microeconomist had never thought of the problems relating to healthcare.
As go my personal experiences with professors, until now I’ve mostly had professors that are sincere and kind with a few exceptions. Moreover, I’ve had a few teaching assistants that have been especially kind and helpful.
@David Sherin: Nah. It’s an 8AM class and it was a minor issue. I saw no sense in making a big deal out of it. I’ll call her out on it in an essay or something.

I have a take home test of sorts for the writing class. It involves essay topics from Threshold. Time to shoot down Hartmann!
Oh come on, that’s clearly not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is that if the person in question is a lecturer they’ve done (at the very least) a bachelors in economics. Chances are they’ve done more than that, probably somewhere within the 5 to 10 years range and taught it for some more years on top of that. The upshot of which is that it beggars belief that these people have neither heard of “opportunity cost” (are you sure they didn’t call them economic costs?) nor thought of a really, really simple incentive problem that even an idiot like Glenn Beck could grasp.
