I think you’re confusing Chuck Baldwin’s platform with the CP’s platform. Baldwin is running on Ron Paul’s platform, the CP is very theocratic. Sorta like how the Republican party is loaded with neocons and Christian fanatics, John McCain is neither. He’s an old fashioned Hamiltonian mercantilist-imperialist.
McCain’s nationalism is particularly insidious because it is entirely propositional. He really doesn’t care about a uniquely American patrimony. Rather, his devotion is to a vague, democratic ideal and consequently there is no limit to its sphere. There is always a war for the Propositional Nation to fight so long as a single person languishes without the right to vote somewhere. The analysis is what is best for the Proposition, not what is best for the American people or what will enhance American territorial sovereignty.
