Yeah I know. I just wanted to complain about it more.
This is exactly it. The only things they got sort of right is that there’s tabs at the top and you log in on the top-right of the page. (but not top enough, IMO)
There’s a very bad user experience. A user shouldn’t have to think about what they’re doing to make a site work or to understand what’s going on. Optimally, 0 thinking.
I go here: http://community.mises.org/ and see some listing of “something”. I’m guessing activity. Ok. Now why are these things formatted differently? That’s not intuitive to me, and it’s something new/different. Another system to get used to. Yay!
Now I’m made to read what these things are. They’re posts, thread replies, and new members signing up. Ok, that kind of makes sense. Now I’ve spent a few seconds trying to figure this out. I just want a forum listing. hover over forum tab
Now I’m made to think again. All I can do is create a new post? Ohhhh… I can click the actual tab, and it takes me to the forum! wait to load up page
Now I see a bunch of threads. Where are the subforums and sections that I’m so used to seeing on every other forum on the internet?
Scan page a few more seconds Now I realize there is no such thing. Oh well. What’s this groups thing? I don’t know what it is. click group discussions …I can’t look at “group discussions” whatever that is… (chat logs or threads?? I don’t know). click Groups …Ok, this is a listing of groups. Now, do I have to be invited to them, or do I join them?
I could go on, but this isn’t a non-thinking, typical, easy experience. 
This forum software has its (apparently unfixable) problems too, but at least it’s pleasing on the eye.
The new community was like a bad acid trip, seriously…

Which Forum Platform?
I created an account here several months ago but didn’t start posting. I go to log in tonight to check out the forums and my password remember function wasn’t working, so I try to manually type the password, still no luck. I try to reset the password, get no email. Finally I hunt around and find the other forum, and I try to log in there and it works. I’m like wtf do they have two forums? I look around a bit on there and it’s absolutely terrible, and there’s like no posts. So I just created an account here.
As a new member here, imo, it would be terrible to throw this forum away for that forum.
