Yea I’v been a member of gamefaqs for a long time now(pretty much since I’v gotton the internet), but I’v mostly commented on the boards of games I was playing at the time. I didnt stop by the political boards until you directed me there.

And yeah I pretty much just post on the politics boards. Despite there being a few zany leftists(im sure you’ve seen), the libertarian posters such as blacktrance, laisser, and In_you_house2 are pretty much awesome. Hopefully you stick around 
There’s a solid idea here. Libertarians need a forum to exchange ideas (debate) with statists. Some place with a lot of traffic, hopefully a place controlled by the Libertarians so they’re not unwanted trespassers. People on places like Huffington post are so economically and politically ignorant, it boggles the mind. Same with Krugman’s blog, but nothing like brain dead crowd on Huffington Post. It would be nice to exchange ideas with them because they have no idea how to handle you, and they’re so easy to demolish in debates. One thing I consider a community service is to show ideologue Republicans just how similar they are to they left wing liberals they profess to hate. Save for some different basic constituents and a slight difference in approach, there’s not much difference. Nothing crushes your world view like knowing you’re basically a fraternal twin with the person you thought was responsible for all that is bad with the world.
Razer you should join us on that board! One of the things I like about being on that board is that I get to test out any ideas I come up with or read about in a debate with fellow statists. It’s easily the best way to learn if you someone picking apart and scrutinizing your arguments. I helps a lot.
I can’t tell if it’s just me but it seems like a lot more people from here have been going onto gfaqs.

I visit Gamefaqs daily, but never the political forum. After browsing it and a few threads, I can’ fathom how you stand to be there. It makes my eyes bleed.

The forums there seem especially stupid. Even the dreaming forum I frequent isn’t that childish in its debating.
I agree and notice that all the good posters on the board who submit well reasonsed posts happen to be libertarian with the exception of a few left wing posters. Generally the board has a left slant

that is based in a negative perception of capitalism and libertarianism in generally, but one person came out and said they are more right leaning because of us:
I’ve transitioned from minarcho-syndicalism, to social democracy, to anarcho-socialism, to free market anarchism (but not capitalistic).
I then started reading and watching a lot of libertarian opinions - their overall economic view, and their perceived solutions to the problems I perceived within a free market (I even made a topic on this board). After a while of open-minded reading and overnight consideration, I today decided to call myself a market anarchist.
As for the whole anarchism thing, I don’t see the state as a necessary function for social order. You can still have social order without statism, it would just function differently.

Nothing beats the community here at mises.org. It’s definitely the community that makes this forum what it is. We have some amazing members, and surprisingly you can find many new/intellectually stimulating conversations surfacing on a daily basis. I know it’s bias of me to state, but even places like ASC, IMHO, can’t offer as rich of a community as mises.org does. I’ll never bother wasting my time anywhere else! 
I go to Slashdot quite often, and contribute there as well (satisfies the inner science nerd in me ). While it’s not particularly politically oriented, they do delve into the subject on a fairly regular basis. What i really like about them, though, is that even though they are libertarian-oriented (I’d say more milton friedman-esque than Rothbardian, take that as you will), they do have contributors of a fairly wide political span, making the discussions far more interesting and dynamic than you would find in many boards which can be quite uni-lateral and uninformative (not to mention their discussions can be quite energetic and, shall we say, colorful 
).

I used to frequent /r/anarchism, but the sub-reddit has finally de-evolved into the hypocritical authoritarian mod nonsense me & a minority warned would occur in a sub-reddit that was increasingly recruiting & being selective with mods, whom then proceeded to increase factionalism with only certain tendency icons (& only approving certain flavors of anarchism).
I do most minor preaching on my FB, as I feel like the emotionalistic barrier between people I know offline is something I must get over one day if I am to be serious about my own opinions (i.e. not being afraid to display them or discuss them). I’ve also been trying harder in offline conversations to highlight how 90% of political dialouge is based on leveraging emotions & reasoning by emotions, rather than anything logically or rationally coherent.
It has led to one or two of my friends reverting on their stance on Intellectual Property, and even if they do not agree with my arguments for anarchism (generally, it’s been long enough where I can’t really specify what my flavor or prefix is), at the very least they would agree with me on many points of info-anarchism
Back on topic, I’ve really been liking Hacker News latley for the high quality comments & debates that pop-up there. Reminds of what slashdot & reddit used to be about (although slashdot has largley retained a level of quality despite the number of users due to their modding system, reddit still requires filtering out a lot of digg users & spam).

Yeah the community here has grown on me despite me not being comfortable with the slant at first. Even though i’m a minarchist I can still come here to get good information and ask questions.
@pantahedron: no, i like to keep my virtual identities separate. Paranoid about privacy (for that matter, does anyone know how i can chance my username?) At any rate, it’s Cato2001. Not very original, i know…
I do most of my political chatting on facebook, though I’ve only got a couple left leaning friends and getting anything across to them is like trying to herd snakes. I work in a public library and I know the majority of my coworkers are fairly statist but I’ve been a bit scared to add them on FB since I don’t want to be totally shunned at work if I say something they can’t handle. I think I may have to man up (figuratively) and just add some of them on the off chance they actually hear something I say. This place is really the holy land, it’s amazing the amount of information that’s covered on the forums here, and almost always with decorum and thoughtfulness. A place to debate with statists would be useful though, I’m going to check out gamefaqs later.
