I’m afraid that no two people on this earth ever had exactly the same ideas. The wider the scope of their mutual interest, the higher the chance that they will differ in its interpretation. Libertarianism being the incredibly complex and wide philosophy that is, it’s far from strange that people disagree on many things. The real question could be : why don’t others disagree this much?
In a world: party discipline. As Lenin put it, everyone discusses to reach a conclusion, but after it is reached everybody endorses it in public. Thus, its only party discipline that keeps other, much more politically minded philosophies form showing their own internal disagreements. Didn’t Mises point out that, in fact, there is no socialist idea, but just millions of ideas of socialism under different people?
+1. Why empires fail, in a nutshell (not viewed as legit in conquered provinces). We must lose the ideas before we can lose the institutions based upon those ideas.

That’s not what he is talking about. He’s saying, even if you take the squishy version of libertarian, which is “maximum possible individual liberty” how can anyone reconcile that with taxation, which is essentially slavery?
