Are you an old woman now? Not capable of choosing another course? And yeah, I’d teach my grandmother to think about where she’s walking before she goes out. That’s basic self defense.
‘The first committee-man that comes to rob me of my tea, or my wine, or molasses, shall feel the weight of my arm; and should you [ Hamilton ] be the man, however lightly you may think of it, a stroke of my cudgel would make you reel, notwithstanding the thickness of your skull.’
-Samuel Seabury.
While I don’t agree with his political ideals, Seabury sums up my sentiment here.
The only way you can feel guilt is if you believe that your actions were wrong. I don’t believe in right and wrong, I believe in necessary and unnecessary. My actions are always necessary, I think very carefully about the choices I make. I don’t feel guilt because I am always sure that what I did was right for me. Other people are not my responsibility, I am my responsibility. I occasionally feel regret when I realize my actions weren’t necessary. That’s about it.
Those are not unanimous decisions, ask the murderer, the thief and the rapist…
If you exclude these people from the fate of their desired transgression of others, I am sure they would assume the illegality of their actions should come into question…
A multitude of people do not pay taxes, and and have a say, a multitude pay less in taxes and have a say…
Let us put the test out there…
If you give a murderer free reign to murder, but they have to endure a non fatal knife wound (pay less taxes) or just have the freedom to do such (no taxes) are they likely to say sure let me murder others?
Without exception people who make their money through criminal “Hits” would agree, immunity is worth a non fatal wound every now and again…
If you give a rapist the free reign to rape, but they have to endure a little forced penetration, lets say a small object (pay less taxes) or just have the freedom to do such (no taxes) are they more likely to say sure let me rape others?
To fulfill the need for dominance that rape gives the rapist without retaliation, without punishment, or a little small object penetration, is a small price to pay, I am sure they would go for it…
If you give a thief the free reign to steal, but they have to pay tribute to a higher theif (pay less taxes) or just have the freedom to do such (no taxes) are they more likely to say sure let me steal from others?
The poor, the off-books workers and the government do this now, through taxation…
Yes, I think we can convince people that it’s in their interests to have a free market, not a privatized system of force. I can’t convince anyone of that. You can’t even convince me that and I’m like right at the border of being in line with your philosophy.
