I think something like this could be very helpful in teaching people that are new to economics the A,B,Cs and doing in a fashion that is easily accessible and engaging. Something where anyone from 15-65 is going to be able to grasp the basic tenets of the Austrian School in 15-20 minutes, while also leading for a path for the person to come back to and pick up and learn even more. Trying to speak as much in “plain English” as possible while also incorporating pictures, graphs, videos, quizzes, etc.
I would imagine it being like a tutorial program that some companies make their employers do when they start out, teaching how to properly protect files or other rules of the office, only this would be way cooler. But the path would be in a way chosen for you in that you would see page 1 then 2 then 3, before eventually then having a choice of 5-10 topics to pick from at your interest. And to start I think the first few pages that the person sees have to be very short and direct. I think its important for people to go into it thinking that its not going to require much of a time commitment, but then hopefully once they start they will get hooked, and if not, well at least they will know some of the basics.
Callahan and Taylor’s books are good intros, especially Callahan when your talking about for the lay person, but I think a lot of lay people aren’t going to be too interested in buying a book unless they already have a pretty decent interest. The thing I am imagining would be for someone either much lazier or has heard very little of Austrian Economics before.
