A good introduction to political; general philosophy & ethics?

specifically one that would help someone get a very solid grasp on the philosophical justifications of libertarian ethics, and also to acquaint someone with many of the terms used in the discussion.

It’s kind of a wide net I’m casting, but I’ve sent a lot of Long’s works to a friend of mine who just sort of threw up his arms and said “I really don’t understand a word of this”… even though he had read and understood “The Ethics of Liberty”

Long’s articles on philosophy tend to be more difficult for beginners. Have you tried his audio lectures, he is better for the laymen when he is talking in a lecture. If you need the link to them I will provide.

Search the main site under the literature tab. Search the non-aggression principle. That is the foundation of libertarian philosophy.
