Saw this earlier today. I liked it.
Made me think of an old question that I am sure has been brought up here before but I will pose it again.
If a society reaches a certain level of technological sophistication, say where most basic energy resources were rendered infinite. would there be any need for capitalism? How would such a civilization treat the idea of liberty and the individual? I guess.. think star trek.

Solarist, doesn’t seem like there was some technological limitations to whatever you call those things they would materialize their dinner with? If there weren’t, they could just materialize extra shielding around their ship on a whim. I think they would still be living in a world of scarcity, otherwise there would be no need for human action.

And art will be too, and machinery design will be too.
And time will be too. And social status will be too. And social evolutive forces will be too. Nothing at all will change.
About the thing, that was hilarious. Something caught my eye, that last “reproduce as much as you can” part. It was meant in a sarcastic fashion, but if I myself where to travel to some planet of apes in the future, I’ll certainly install myself as a diety just for the fun of it, and I’d truly select some apes to serve as my high priests. Perhaps, that whole anunaki story is not so far fetched…
