Sometimes imaginations run wild. Many of us would like the tyranny perpetrated by the American government to end quickly, but I think it’s much more likely that this lumbering behemoth will persist for years to come.
The potentially really dangerous things are price controls. Thats what creates the surpluses and shortages that kill people
I think gold at $2K per ounce is possible. I do not see food riots or any of the other stuff without complete government control of prices. As bad as it looks the government of Bush and Obama can not seem to take over price setting in executive salaries, medical care or energy. And the Federal Government at one time controlled all 3. As late as 1980 it controlled the price of energy. So don’t look so sad…
That having been said, the robbery of the wealth of the USA will continue nomatter which team, red or blue, is in charge. Hopefully they will fail but it will take a while and during this period there will be negative to zero growth and the continued destruction of freedom, property, wealth and civil society.
The first American revolution succeeded because it was counter-revolutionary in nature. Everyone agreed they wanted to go back to the past and rallied around that objective.
There’s really no agreement on what or where to go to with the discontented today. There might be a few insurrections here and there, but for the most part the ruling class is untouchable, and their power will only increase with the increasing chaos.
