You’re right…pretty disturbing. Notice the escalation of reason going from the state saying, “Please…” to “You must or else…”

What is disturbing and sad is that even the victims in that video don’t understand what they have just been a victim off.
I need some background info though. Is this a State law or is it just Homeowner’s Association rules and regulations? Even if it were a Homeowner’s rulings, it’s a pretty stupid way to go about resolving a conflict.
The link in the video’s description says it was a State zoning law. Figures.
Also, this is what Thoreau meant when he said the State makes people like mindless automotons and cogs in a larger machine. Why oh why did these individuals (who claim to represent the State) spend precious time out of their day to remove basketball hoops that kids undoubtedly derive entertainment from? Because they were told it was their job, of course. “I’m just following the law” or “I’m just doing my job.” Obviously they have a job because they want to get money, but the only reason money is available to compensate them is because it is cloaked in support for statism at a very superficial level. None of the people who paid taxes and none of the people involved in removing the hoops would volunteer to do this, yet everybody thinks everybody else thinks they should do it, so they do it.
