Addressing Blanket Statements

I hear blanket statements more often then not. I want to know what you guys think, is it worth taking time to address them? And how should we address them, from what angle?

I always get stumped by them, because there is nothing truly argue from a blanket statement. I mean what am I going to say to “Privatization is bad”, laugh to myself and say the person is stupid?

Privatization is good?

“I mean what am I going to say to “Privatization is bad”, laugh to myself and say the person is stupid?”
