It is.
Anarchism is unfortunately a terrible and ineffective word to use for advancing freedom. Language evolves in contrast to what the French Academy would like to have you believe.
Anyway,I think there are better terms to use when referring to the free society. For example - Voluntarism, Private Law Society, or even Anarcho-capitalism.
Just “anarchy” is practically a non-starter.
There is already a word that expresses everything, and that all the statists, communists and anarchists hate with a blue-hot passion:
freedom.
when people get into politics or what have you with me and ask what party or stance I have, I always say, ‘I’m for liberty.’ Liberty is a hard concept for some people to digest and some people have trouble with considering the implications of liberty. Some people begin to sound like the very people they speak out against, and make arguments against liberty. I try to reflect their anti-liberty stance right back at them. The responsibility of liberty can’t be blamed on somebody else when they themselves make arguments against liberty. It’s a typical doublestandard that people tend to fall into. Yet, I am optimistic, what else do I have left.
They’re vandarchists. And anarchists of the abolish private property variety. Lost causes.
I have heard such attacks are not truly caused by ideological anarchists but by government black ops to get the general public to
a) believe anarchists are lawless and violent
b) accept authoritarian crowd control at such large, public events.

Trust me, vandarchism is no conspiracy. Just take a look at the RevLeft forums, or most of the people on YouTube or DeviantART.
