Since many in the austrian community advocate anarcho capitalism, I feel that I need to reply. First, is it utopian? Karl Marx when he advocated communism, said one thing but the total opposite and if we were to get what we want and that is a stateless society, would the total opposite happen just like in communism?
How would private defense work from an insurance aspect over say what we have now in the pentagon? While I support private police over public, I feel that it is not feasible the idea of somehow my insurance company protecting me from foreign invaders. The same goes with private courts, law etc. There could be so many different ways to interpret a law that what happens when it comes to enforcement?
I ask more questions about these issues later on but if someone can explain these issues to me that would be great
can i encourage you to say about why you advocate private police over public, and then perhaps explain in some detail why criminals from abroad pose a challenge so different that your advocation for private solutions is silenced? please then go on to make some kind of argument why a monopoly provider for the service you wish to see provided well to customers would be the way to go.
If you go some way to doing these things, I predict we could have a fascinating discussion.
Anarcho-capitalism is not utopian. Problems like crime, instability, disease, death, ignorance, and etcetera would still exist. Anarcho-capitalism removes the biggest killer in human history from society: government.
Communism was a foreseeable catastrophe. It was economically flawed. I could continue, but why restate what has been better said by others?
The free price system is an information system that shows product availability (supply) and product desirability (demand). The profit-and-loss system, free market anarcho-capitalism’s trial-and-error mechanism, optimally coordinates production, distribution, and consumption to benefit consumers. Socialism’s trial-and-error mechanism is shortage-and-surplus. Economic calculation is hard to impossible without the free price system. Which entertainment is more valuable? That is determined by consumers. One book publisher after another may reject a book proposal. Later the book can become a bestseller. Imagine the bad results if those decisions were made by an economic central planning committee. Even if the economic central planning committee members sought to help the whole population, not only themselves and their friends, they would not know consumer desires. They could poll people to learn their wants, but there are many ways to advertise and create products, each with different costs. There is a difference between people being able to tell a pollster they want anything and their ability and willingness to pay for it . . .

To win a war, steel should be used for military production. Should the steel be used for bombs, tanks, or planes? How many people should actively fight? The demand and supply for materials and soldiers would affect their prices. The free price system can be used for war priorities. Destroying enemy targets could be measured by reward. Destruction of the target yields the reward to the destroyer. Individuals would compete for the reward. Some could attack directly, fighting up-close. Some could use snipers. Some could use mortars. Some could use spies. The variety of ways to destroy a target may not be known to a central planning military leader.”
