I’m surprised there’s no Anarcho-Capitalist symbol that directly uses imagery of a gold bar. Upside down A with gold bar in middle is one of the thoughts I had for a good symbol.
There’s a flag out there with is half yellow with a black dollar sign, half black with a yellow inverse A.
I don’t really like to standard black anarchy flag as it’s too much associated with left anarchists who oppose the natural order and private property.
Some ancaps are using the dollar sign as a symbol of market anarchy, this is absurd in my opinion, it’s the symbol of a fiat currency! And there are some really decorated and complex flags out there, they look stupid. Just keep it simple, a gold/black bisected flag or a circle A.
Yeah, I know about the one that uses the dollar sign. That’s why I asked about gold imagery. It surprises me that there isn’t any that directly uses a bar of gold, only “gold color”.
I’m surprised that no-one has produced an anarchy flag/symbol based on imagery such as :
I agree that a non-$ sign indicating free market currency would be a lot better. Overall I like the layout of the yellow/black flag though. I’m not sure if there’s a sign out there for Gold; the chemical Au might be a bit too nerdy, showing a gold bar might be too unclear.
I don’t know honestly, but I agree with the OP’s request for a better flag.
I made a(Rather ugly ) example of what I mean:

I just used yellow in a vaguely gold bar esque shape as a placeholder.
I know this isn’t the best, and is tiny, but…

Its supposed to be chain of fiat currencies, and instead of the “V”, an “A” could be subsituted, I am submitting it, claiming copyright, but only to allow all to use, but not claim as own, unless change, then it is their own.
Using gold as a symbol is a little too specific, I think. It would look kind of foolish if events and market forces lead to something like silver or another commodity being the main form of money!
I’m still new to this stuff, but one thing I always have to point out to people is that it’s not gold that’s the drive of libertarians/an-caps, but the concept of hard, sound money in general. Using gold as a symbol would exacerbate this public misconception, I think.
I’ll produce one if you want…I have made an AnCap flag before.
In fact, here it is: http://i31.tinypic.com/2csgqib.png
The user Beefheart has it as his signature if I recall right.
Yeah, that was my apprehension. However, the Ancap flag already uses a gold color, so I thought I’d make it more explicit.
Ooo, that’s very nice. Although it still doesn’t seem quite right to me, because it implies what lefty “Ruheeeel” Anarchists think about AnCap. That is, that it isn’t “Real” Anarchy.
