Anyone watching this [censored] of a press confernce?

This stooge is standing in front of the nation explaining how inefficient and incompetent ALL the government agencies have been, how all of the central planners are at each others throats, and how the government has failed…In so many words. BP is under the “direction” of the government.

BP deserves some fault, but can I assume that it’s taken this long because of the beuracracies involved? After an entire month all of a suddent wet sand is going to stop the leak?

Local newscaster: “[government is] moving to show it is in charge of the situation.”

Obama talks like any other sleazy CEO of a politically-connected corporation.

If the government isn’t in control, some of the people feel powerless. They know this is going to pollute the environment severely. So some people turn to statism.

I was only about 5 when the Valdez spill happened, but I remember how it was the worst thing ever and how it was going to have a lasting effect on the ecosystem.

I also remember it was either Rothbard or Lew that mentioned that the ecosystem and fishing was better a year after than it was before the spill even happened.

It was Lew: http://mises.org/daily/4331

“The environmentalists are thrilled because they get yet another chance to wail and moan about the plight of their beloved marshes and other allegedly sensitive land. The loss of fish and marine life is sad, but it is not as if it will not come back: after the Exxon Valdez disaster, the fishing was better than ever in just one year.”
