Are all topics serious topics?

I tried to make a non-serious topic about guidos, but that was downrated immediately. Libertarians are too highbrow for internet nonsense.

It’s not libertarians in general. Just this forum. The forum where I was introduced to libertarianism once had an epic thread about guidos.

Ad hominy: plural of ad hominem

How many Miseians does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Who cares? Let the objectivests do it.

They screw UP all the time.

Two Austrians makin’ woopie.

Who let the causality out.

Austrian breakfast sausage.

Menger bangers.

How many strawmen make a bale?

Hayek…who knows?

What’s the difference between a philosopher and a tautological semanticist?

…PhD.

…now I feel dirty. [:$]

(…don’t tell tokyo tom. he’ll make me pay for turning white rice brown.) [:O] [:P]

Happy New Year, Mises forums.

In Soviet Russia, party finds YOU!!

In America, parties fine YOU!

I had the best damn meatballs EVER tonight. They were made with equal parts homemade chili sauce and grape jelly. Sounds gross; tastes like a culinary orgasm.

An-cap saves lives ^^

Hahaha [:D]

Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown,
And things seem hard, or tough,
And people are stupid, obnoxious, or daft,
And you feel that you’ve had quite enough,

I think it just depends on the individual, or the individual post.

Some topics I’m sure are lighthearted and you get some wisecracks and some serious answers. Some serious topics get wisecracks and serious answers. It’s like anything else.

A Keynesian and an Austrian have a local bookstore they both like.

The Austrian says, “I’ll buy something from this store, thereby supporting it!”

The Keynesian says, “I’ll pick bookstores at random, and buy books from them. Thereby increasing total aggregate demand in books, which will increase the average book price, and thereby give my bookstore more profit!”

“It’s a GM (government motors car)”.

On a semi serious (not really) note, a question: Would it be at all offensive, bizarre, or wholly inappropriate to use a Toshiro Mifune avatar for these forums? (heh heh..)

Given that he starred in mostly brutal, savage, maximal-oppressive samurai flicks that had absolutely nothing in common with anything related to this site? I mean, yeah, that period (in authoritarian Japan of all places) is pretty much the polar opposite of a libertarian paradise in most ways, but it’s good entertainment still! [:P]

Actually, never mind, I’d rather not have the ghost of Mises come to haunt me. [:D]

Sounds a little like a simple recipe for meatballs (works good on meatloaf too) I’ve discovered. 1/2 ketchup, 1/2 currant jelly - again sounds gross, but once it blends that’s some good shiate.

It’s from 1970, but it’s still very appropriate.

THIS IS NOT A SONG IT’S AN OUTBURST: OR THE ESTABLISHMENT BLUES

The mayor hides the crime rate
council woman hesitates
Public gets irate but forget the vote date
Weatherman complaining, predicted sun, it’s raining
Everyone’s protesting, boyfriend keeps suggesting
you’re not like all of the rest

Garbage ain’t collected, women ain’t protected
Politicians using, people they’re abusing
The mafia’s getting bigger, like pollution in the river
And you tell me that this is where it’s at

Woke up this morning with an ache in my head
I splashed on my clothes as I spilled out of bed
I opened the window to listen to the news
But all I heard was the Establishment’s Blues.

Gun sales are soaring, housewives find life boring
Divorce the only answer smoking causes cancer
This system’s gonna fall soon, to an angry young tune
And that’s a concrete cold fact

The pope digs population, freedom from taxation
Teeny Bops are uptight, drinking at a stoplight
Miniskirt is flirting I can’t stop so I’m hurting
Spinster sells her hopeless chest

Adultery plays the kitchen, bigot cops non-fiction
The little man gets shafted, sons and monies drafted
Living by a time piece, new war in the Far East
Can you pass the Rorschach test?

It’s a hassle it’s an educated guess.
Well, frankly I couldn’t care less.

Somewhat funny. http://funcage.com/blog/why-i-fired-my-secretary/
