Are you against the Fed? Are you against the U.S. government wars and empire? Are you against regulations? Are you against licensing laws? Are you against drug prohibition laws? Are you against government bailouts? Are you against gun control?
Do you still pay your taxes? If you do, then you are part of the problem. Nothing will change until we stop giving them our wealth.
In the U.S., you can claim “dependents”, which reduces the amount of taxes you pay. At the end of the year, you are welcome to not file and not pay any extra taxes. If you are not working for another company, you are also welcome to not pay. Also if you have a company, you are welcome to not collect taxes for the government.
I understand the religion of government is harder for people to break than the religion in god. A full 10% of the U.S. population is non-religious, in terms of god. Maybe 1% are non-religious in terms of the state, if that. Still, that would be 3 million people. Now, if even 20,000 would stop paying taxes, stop getting licenses, stop paying traffic tickets, stop collecting taxes if a business owner, well, I think that would be enough. We will see I guess. But that is the only way things will change. To stop being afraid.
I am almost positive that a lot more than 20,000 people refuse to pay their income taxes. In fact, I believe the number of “tax resistors” in the U.S. numbers into the millions. This would be an easy google, imo.
Vermont, Wyoming, North Dakota all have populations of less then 650,000. Get this 1% against the State to move there and force the State to secede and to dismantle itself.
I avoid paying any that are easy to avoid paying. With that being said I still pay my income tax, tax on items I buy in stores(normally I shop online to avoid paying sales tax which is soon not going to be an option) property tax, I get my car inspected and pay taxes on it, and the list goes on. There isn’t much one can do in the name of liberty while living inside a jail ceil.
Things will change but they will change in a negitive way. The more power and influence the government gains over individuals lives the more popular ideas such as the one you propose will become (this is already happening). If each and every anarcho-capitalist would today refuse to pay their taxes the effect would go almost unnoticed. If the same anarcho-capitalists continued to spread their ideology and introduce others to their beliefs then maybe one day your proposal would be many times more effective.
