Take a look at this article on “deregulation” of electricity in California.
It felt like a load of waffling about the benefits of regulation encapsulated by a title and conclusion strongly criticising the free market. The author didn’t seem to feel it was significant that there were unreasonable retail price controls in place. Neither did he have a problem with the blatantly non-market, egalitarian pricing system that paid every genererator the same price for their power.
Note the comment about getting a real understanding of the free market from “Human Action”. You can’t fool intelligent people who are questioning what they are being told.
