I haven’t looked into it but James Grant has got to have some knowledge of Austrian Economics.

Good article. I’ve found a few dissenting opinions in the main stream press lately, but they don’t seem to be getting much traction. I think that most people see economic theory as something too esoteric or boring to try to understand. They just want to think that the fed and treasury are full of smart people that study this stuff, so they must be right. Krugman just won the Nobel, so he must know what he’s talking about, and he thinks the government isn’t doing enough. Generally when I try to explain the Austrian view to friends and family, their eyes glaze over and I can tell they’re not really listening.

I’ve only recently begun to study the Austrian school myself, but it has been extremely enlightening to watch how the one system that predicted all this has been ignored during the current economic crisis. I was generally under the opinion that the government was a clusterfuck of competing interests that showed little ability to get anything done, but it has moved ahead with remarkable speed and unity to take advantage of this lousy situation to further screw it’s citizens. It has opened my eyes to the extent of evil collaboration actually going on.

Excellent article. About the only problem I can see with it is that there was no direct statement to abolish the fed and all other central banks. But for the purpose of the article, I don’t think there could be a better one. It needs to be sent to all central bank-worshipping nutcases.

Articles like that can always use diggs and stumbles. Reddit too.
