These are very good points, but I didn’t say violence was the answer, nor did I imply that “taking over the world” would mean to be control of everything. I thought that readers would infer that we would attempt to bring capitalism to the world in some way, probalby by example like in the past. Many of the countries that began after we showed them what capitalism could do are now some of our greatest competitors. Now we have decided that capitalism is not what we want as a country. There are not many today who favor it and even Michael Moore has a blatantly anti-capitalism movie out. If capitalism was popular here, this movie would bomb, but as it is, he is going to do very well and make a lot of money trashing it.
So your plan is to refuse to use the existing system in which we are forced to live to encourage freedom because it would mean having to become tainted by socialism or the “system”? How many times in the past has this technique caused the murder of those who just wanted to be left alone? How about 1938? We may be murdered and our country be subjected to despotism but at least we will be clean from the stigma of working within the system. If we do nothing, we will become the slaves of those who don’t.
Your observations are correct, but as we learned in grade school, if we don’t hang together we will hang separately. It is valid to seceed individually but we become easier to dominate. Secession is coming, let’s do it right this time.
I wouldn’t draw on my state education for messages on liberty. What you just repeated, is a call for collectivism and nationalism, not for individualism.
No we don’t. Look at the libertarian movement. It’s like herding cats.
No one is forcing you to live in the existing system.
Yes, I believe Obama said something similar about health care. We can’t do nothing. We must do something. That’s the cry of every political hack who wants more power.
I’m going to split this discussion to a new thread in about an hour, because Jeffrey Tucker has blogged about this thread, and the current direction is offtopic.
