Best example of the Libertarian ideal?

laissez faire

Is there any state, past or present that can be Libertarians can point to and say “this is what we want?” Is there anything close to the ideal right now? always gets contrasted as this laisseze faire stronghold vs. European when they want to make comparisons between socialist democrazies and laisseze fair-style governments, but I find this comparison silly as America is just as statist as Europe.

So what is close to the ideal that Libertarians can point to as evidence to why their system is preferable?

laissez-faire ? When was it fully put in practice ? Never.

Laissez faire is a part of everyday life. Most of your day-to-day interactions are not controlled by the state at all.

Although if you want it on a larger scale, Medieval Iceland is often considered a good example.
