Child Labour & The Consumer

Child labour will stop if demand for such products stops. NGOs should bring out AUTHENTIC LISTS of such products in media. And regarding Child labour Laws, these laws which run against market demand can only give rise to corruption and more such laws. Therefore public awareness and education is the correct way forward.

If we consume Child labour, then we alone are to be blamed.

We have laws against Child Labour…Very Good. We have Govt. welfare schemes targeting Child Labour…Also Very Good…But let us also consider the fact that a child comes from the interior to a city to earn – willingly or otherwise, for himself or for his family back home because we the consumers provide that income.

The child or his family chooses this risky meager income of cash over the free education and other welfare schemes which are only implemented on paper. No wonder some people will do anything to avoid voting while the poor are happy to vote for a TV.
