Whats the general consensus here about Chris Christie? From what I heard he is really trying to cut the NJ budget.
I don’t really know that much about the man or his beliefs, but what I do know, I like. I was planning on digging up the same clip you posted when I read your thread title; it’s really nice to hear a politician telling it like it is for once.
I pretty much feel the same way about Christie as I do about Ron Paul. He may or may not be an anarchist in principle, but he’s probably the next best thing.
Videos like that remind me why I detest these public sector characters. Like that woman who questioned Christie.
They earn far more than a private sector worker, they live off private sector workers, they are hurt far less than private sector workers during recessions and diminishing public finances, they work far fewer hours than private sector workers, and they still demand six-figure incomes and accuse other voters of being selfish for not bowing to their needs.
The nerve of that teacher, whose younger colleagues are getting laid off, that she wants her pay to keep going up and her share of a diminishing pie to keep growing makes me want to regurgitate. And then such public sector workers accuse others of being selfish; they don’t even look out for their fellow colleagues.
This is disgusting. This is why I hate democracy. Every one of those voters is a tyrant who is out there to rob you, and then condemn you in public for not having given enough to them. Humans by and large can be a wicked, decadent, and monstrous species, and capitalism was the only means of temporarily keeping them at bay and working towards better things - but democracy empowers them enough to destroy all that.
The most outrageous thing is that here in India, a Right to Education Act was passed to make teacher’s unions happy, while pushing to destroy the last of the functioning private sector in the country. Nobody ever leaves you alone in a democracy. Ever.

He’s an interesting politician. He’s got a great personality. Not a typical politician. I assume the general consensus is like any other politician, GTFO.
But, notable disagreements I have is he just performed a state takeover of the casino district. Casino owners supported it.. Wanted to keep Atlantic City’s monopoly. One would think Declining casino revenue would lead to more competition, but Christie is nipping that in the bum.
One thing I have noticed about his legislations, especially with the property tax caps, is that he is putting a lot of the caps power with the governor. SO basically saying that he served for 4 years and kept property taxes down, but elect someone else and they have the same power he would have, but could use it to raise taxes…
^Ron Paul is a voluntaryist. I don’t have the youtube link, but there’s a youtube video where he says he is. I’m sure Nielsio can probably pull it up.
