Something just isn’t clicking for me when reading it. It makes sense, but I feel like the individual is still crucial to even have any collectivity. I don’t know, I felt like this’ll be an interesting thing to discuss.
The division of labor already does this. Interesting project, nevertheless.
The individual is necessary to have collectivity, by definition. Otherwise collectivity = a really big individual. A cloud of computers is a collective because it has individual components capable of autonomous action. A single supercompter constructed using dozens of microprocessors is an individual computer, because the processors which make it up cannot behave autonomously under the programming used.
It sounds to me like they’re using information technology to apply division of labour to problems which could not be effectively addressed with it before, or otherwise making more extensive use of division of labour with IT.
In principle, it’s a good idea. Of course anything that becomes too lucrative eventually attracts the attention of the state - just look at the internet, and “net neutrality”.
