Criticism of neo-classical method

Hi,

I am looking for a good criticism of the neo-classical method. Preferably not written by an Austrian but one of there own. But I would be glad for some hints to good Austrian criticism of this as well.

This far this is pretty much all I found

I don’t have anything by a non austrian economist, but here’s something by de Soto:

THE ONGOING METHODENSTREIT OF THE AUSTRIAN SCHOOL

http://mises.org/etexts/methodenstreit.pdf

That is good by I need something that can be gift wrapped
I have looked some more and found nothing but a few articles.

Really no one has written a book on why mathematical models failed to predict the financial crisis or somesuch?

Human Action has some great parts on the failure of mathematical models, and for 20 dollars I can’t imagine a better overall gift.

Yeah, it would be. But he is already well versed in the austrian refutation this is mostly as a joke.
I was considering Economics in One lesson and just tell him that maybe it is time to start over?

Really I would want a more mainstream refuation of neoclassical modelling though, but maybe it doesn’t exist?

Anyways this will be good reading for me, I need to read up on the austrian refutation of neoclassical method.
